Letter To Patients
Dear Valued Patient,
We hope this letter finds you in good health. It is with both gratitude and sadness that we write to inform
you that DBT Center of Orange County will be closing on December 15, 2025. This website will remain active as a resource and point of contact through our designated records custodian for the duration of our record retention period — up to 21 years, and no less than 7 years.
As you may already know, Michele Lob, PsyD, MFT, CEDS, the founder of DBT Center of Orange
County, passed away unexpectedly several months ago. Despite our best efforts, it has been challenging to
maintain the Practice, and the decision to close the practice, though difficult, has become necessary. We
are profoundly grateful for the trust and loyalty you have shown over the years.
We understand that this news can be upsetting and want to encourage you to take any necessary steps to
keep yourself safe. If you are feeling unsafe, please go to your local Emergency Room, utilize your Crisis
Safety Plan and/or utilize one of the below resources.
Your health and well-being remain our top priority. To help ensure a smooth transition, we have outlined
next steps and important information below.
New Provider
To ensure continuity of care, we suggest you establish care with a new provider as soon as possible. We
suggest that you discuss this with your current clinician or you may select a provider through your health
plan’s provider directory or any professional associations, i.e., local or state associations. For your
convenience, we have included a list of local providers in similar areas. Please note, this list is provided
as a courtesy. The Practice is not affiliated with these providers and does not endorse or guarantee
the quality of their services. We encourage you to conduct your own due diligence in selecting a
provider who meets your needs.
Current Clinicians
Some of our clinicians may continue to practice independently after the Practice closes. If you wish to
continue care with your current clinician, please reach out to them directly to discuss their availability and
future practice arrangements.
